Abstract
Facial nerve is the most important anatomic structure seen during surgery of parotid gland. It is important to know the course of this nerve during surgery to prevent possible nerve damage. Retromandibular vein passes inside parotid gland mostly medial to facial nerve. Main truncus of the facial nerve can be reached with retrograde follow-up by finding the marginal mandibular nerve, which passes lateral to the retromandibular vein. In this article, we presented a case of facial nerve passing through the medial of retromandibular vein under the light of the literature.
